2018 Toyota Yaris Review

The 2018 Toyota Yaris will soon join the redesigned Sienna on stage at the New York Auto Show. The overhauled Toyota Yaris receives a meager update but brings a carryover powertrain. Like previously, it will comprise three-door and five-door body configurations. There are three trim levels including the base grade L, upmarket LE and the sportier SE trim.

The Toyota has given the inbound Yaris fresh looks along with more standard and available elements. It is going to showcase an aggressively updated styling with a tweaked nose and tail. This time, the standard equipment includes automatic braking, collision warning and lane departure function. The Yaris still delivers tranquil driving and low cost-of-ownership experience you would expect from a typical Toyota car. It is a compelling sub-compact choice for many.

2018 Toyota Yaris – Exterior Styling and Interior Cosmetics

All versions of the 2018 Toyota Yaris will receive updated front and rear fascia. Each trim has a puckered-looking façade on top of a gaping mouth-like air intake. The new taillights and a reshaped bumper are visible at the back.

The SE model, which receives 16-inch aluminum wheels, will lead the bunch as far as exterior looks go. Two chrome trim pieces seem to stretch outward from the emblem, all of which meet at the revamped headlights. Besides, this time we are treated to a new body color. The supposed color is the Blue Eclipse which is available with Black Sand Pearl roof.

The interior styling has not been altered that much, although the electronics seem a tad different. Also, the 2018 Toyota Yaris will this time present a host of standard equipment. Yaris’s base L trim gets a tilt steering wheel comprising various audio controls. Both L and LE models also sport analog instrument panel with the LCD information display, which was previously limited to the SE trim level. Moreover, L and LE trims come with a 6.1-inch touchscreen featuring Toyota’s Entune audio system.

It supplies such things as a CD player, six speakers, MP3 playback, Bluetooth, an auxiliary audio jack, a USB port and Siri Eyes Free. The sportier SE version receives a 7.0-inch touchscreen along with an upscale Entune system. The SE trim is also going to sport such features as hands-free phone capability, voice recognition, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD radio, navigation as well as weather and traffic info. Toyota will offer active safety features on all models. These include forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, automated emergency braking, and automated high beams.

2018 Toyota Yaris – Engine and Transmission

Our novel 2018 Toyota Yaris will be soldiering on with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The unit has a capacity to generate 106 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 103 pound-feet of torque at 4,200 rpm. Two-door L trim integrates a five-speed manual transmission, while every other trim features a four-speed automatic transmission.

The EPA rating ranges from 30 mpg city to 36 mpg highway irrespective of the trim and transmission type. The car’s chassis remains unaltered. We will also find a torsion-beam rear setup, an independent strut-type front suspension and electrically assisted rack-and-pinion steering. The SE Yaris receives a stiffer suspension, rear disc brakes and lower-profile 16-inch tires that substantiate its position as the sporty model.

Market Release Date and Price of the 2018 Toyota Yaris

Unconfirmed reports allege that the 2018 Toyota Yaris is going to hit the dealership this summer. Pricing is yet to be announced, but we believe the base L grade starts at $16,000 while sporty SE sells at $18,000.
