Gray’s 2018 sermon, in which he admitted to “listening to the wrong voices,” was a sort of admission of guilt. The Relentless Church pastor revealed that his wife, Aventer Gray, learned of his infidelity and “set it off like a good wife should.” Aventer, who was standing beside her husband during his confession, then took the mic and began her speech.
“I put Scripture on that strange woman,” Aventer said. “I put Scripture on that strange woman. She don’t want it with me and she don’t want it with, Y’all.”
Mrs. Gray further explained, “I’m standing with my husband and you can go on back to the pits of Hell where you came from. Was I upset? Yes. Was I heartbroken? Yes. But you better learn to get in there for them. What’s the vows? Better and worse so when the worst shows up you don’t run away. When the worst shows up you pray. Until he wakes up and understands who he is, you pray wife, while the devils run away. I’m not saying to sit there in perpetual foolishness. I’m saying pray the devils away. If you give up too soon he wins.”

Rumors of John Gray cheating on his wife arose last year after an anonymous source allegedly emailed popular Church Gossip bloggers damaging information that could discredit his ministry. William McCray of Obnoxious Television reportedly furnished proof of John Gray’s affair along with evidence that the pastor’s mistress was expecting a child. The blogger also alleged that Pastor Gray’s $200,000 Lamborghini gift to his wife was given as a result of Aventer learning of the affair.
