The new Jamnagar cracker will raise Reliance’s total ethylene capacity to 4 million MT/year. Export of HDPe in 2017-18 amounted to INR 2000 crore and INR 8000 crore worth of HDPE was imported. As production of HDPE is expected to rise, it might push down prices of mosquito nets, causing an increase in demand. Use of other materials in production of mosquito nets is expected to further decline with respect to HDPE.
