How To Pick A Business Niche In Canada

Why Selecting A Good Niche Is Important?

Finding a niche for selling products online for free is equal to choosing a relationship partner. A niche defines your company and your range of products.

If the selling of one of your many products online for free generates a hefty revenue, the online audience would definitely want to try your other products but if you fail to deliver any one of your product, you might lose in terms of company’s reputation.

Here’s how you can select a business niche:

1. Find Out What Can You Excel At

Yes, think about your strengths and experience. Ask yourself about businesses in which you can excel? When you think of certain businesses, answer the question of ‘Why’.

· Why do you think you can excel in a business?

· Can you make a unique range of products which no one has made before?

· Or why would people come to you for products which are already being made?

· How and why do you think you can excel in your niche?

When you have found the answer in terms of facts and reasoning, discuss it with friends and family and then choose a niche.

2. Know the Challenges of a Particular Niche

A lot of people tend to follow hype when it comes to selling a product for free in an online business. They are like ‘hey! One of my friends is making a lot of money in a niche (let’s say consumer electronics) and I don’t have much experience but I will join it and see how it goes’

The good thing about consumer electronics is that it is a never saturating field i.e. people will always buy electronic devices. The downside is that you have to keep up with technology.

If you are not technology oriented and not passionate about a product, chances are it won’t sell.

3. See What Others Are Doing

Open a popular e-commerce online selling sites Canada and explore different niches. See the categories and products of different companies.

Notice the prices of different finished products and try to determine the feasibility of raw prices i.e. can you manufacture these products economically or try to introduce a new variation inside an existing category?

If you can break down an already existing supply chain management into an effective one, chances are you will rock a business.

4. Keyword Targeted Research

Suppose you have grown fond of a macro category and now it is time to narrow down your niche. One way to do is to perform a keyword targeted research. Take help from Google AdWords Keyword Planner and search different words related to your niche.

If you don’t find many words, it is because the category does not exist. Don’t get in the illusion of creating a new category and making money because there is a 99% chance that if no one is doing it, there is no money to be made.

5. The Marketing Challenge

With so many products available in the market, you need to convince the general people, in hopes of trying your product.

Do you think you can convince them to try your product through logic, reasoning, and facts? If yes, you have just solved the marketing challenge of your niche.
