Anniversaries, Fears, Life Goals

Found myself eager to Write tonight. I also wrote a few poems earlier on in the day.

Maybe it’s a creative strike or simply, inspiration on some kind of level. Not too sure.

Despite all the rain and bad weather, I’ve found myself a lot happier, a good sign indeed.

It might have something to do with me having pastel pink hair, or the fact that today is me and my best friend’s anniversary of when we first met at School. 8 WHOLE YEARS!

Hard to believe it’s been almost a decade! Can still remember that day, it was my first day at a school I’d never been to, my nerves were so intense, think I freaked out a little.

Thankfully, the universe was on my side when they gave me the best friend one could possibly wish for. She kept me sane during those awkward, peculiar teenage years, for sure.

To this day, we still talk, even though it’s not often. But, we do make an effort to stay connected. Social media is definitely good for something, if not every little thing. Oh well!

What I Love most about our friendship is how, despite our cultural and background differences, we still managed to find so much common ground. Apart from the fact that, we were both girls looking for an education. Despite only spending a few years at secondary school, it taught me a lot about what it means to be young and to appreciate it before the dreaded day comes and you have to work, be an adult basically in this world.

Not many people know this, but from the age of 7 to 14, I was home-schooled by my parents and then, they decided to enroll me in the school where my exams were ultimately taken. I think their decision for that, was because I was getting older and a lot more was required, education wise. Despite all this, exams were passed, completed to a satisfactory standard and well, I guess it wasn’t all bad memories about bullies and failed love.

People often confuse home-schooling with kids being too lazy to attend school, but at the time, my family was travelling the world, discovering new places of scenery, went to a whole lot of intriguing countries, all with different cultures and choices etc.

Regardless of what others say, kids learn about things each and every day, whether it’s how to tie their laces or how to write essays.

My love of writing definitely came from having the freedom to express myself, having the support of parents who encouraged me to follow my dreams and pursue greater opportunities for myself. If it wasn’t for that, I would surely be stuck in my own personal misery.

Whether you were educated all your life, or whether you’re not as academically great as others, the universe always has a plan for all of us human beings. That’s the beauty of it, I suppose.
