Two thousand, tow hundred and thirty seven Nysc Corps Members today took the oat of service at the permanent orientation camp in Kaduna in the presence of the state’s senior Government officials who revealed the plans of Governor El-Rufai to build a new 3,000 capacity hostel for the NYSC members.
Daniel Dan-Auta, the Commissioner, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture who represented the Governor says the state government takes the NYSC scheme very seriously because of the potentials it presents in terms of presenting the state with man power.
He said “If you look around, you can see that we have just finished the first phase of the general renovation of the camp. It is in phases. We are already in the second phase which include the parade ground, female hostel and staff quarters. We only have itches with the contractor and that has been sorted out.
“Due to our seriousness in upgrading the facilities here, NYSC headquarters has doubled the number of corps members to be deployed to Kaduna state. “We are expanding permanent site in the third phase to accommodate up to 3,000 corps members so we can have more of the essential workers you talked about”, he explained.
