Salman Khan’s career’s turning point was his 1989 Film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. This film gave a new superstar to Bollywood. But all that was happened because of a flop actor, Faraaz Khan. Forbes India issued a list of 100 celebrities, in which Salman Khan with his 232 Crore rupees collection from the film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, bagged the first position on the list and consecutively twice in two years.

Faraaz Khan was first Prem in Maine Pyar Kiya

The role of Prem in film Maine Pyar Kiya was first offered to Farhaz Khan. Director Suraj Badjatya took the screen test of many actors including Vindu Dara Singh, Deepak Tijori, Piyush Mishra and Faraaz Khan for the role of Prem. After all, Faraaz Khan was finalized for the role of ‘Prem’. Faraaz had signed the film, but before he started filming, he fell ill.

The shooting of the film stopped due to the illness of the Faraaz. Then someone suggested the name of Salim Khan’s son Salman Khan to Badjatya, who was then looking for work in films. He met Salman and took his audition for the role of Prem.

Faraaz is a son of actor Yusuf Khan. He debuted in the films after recovering from his illness, after 7 years of Maine Pyar Kiya release. Faraaz did films like Prithvi (1997), Mehendi (1998), Ship of Theseus (2013). Most of his films were flops. At present, Faraaz is living the life of anonymity away from the limelight.
