In a row of Film Padmavati’s controversy, now a controversial comment is made by the famous Bollywood scriptwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar. He made a comment on Karni Sena and Rajputs. In an interview with a news channel in Lucknow on Sunday, Javed said that,
Rajput-Rajvade have never fought with the British and are now making riots on the streets. These Rana people, the Maharajas, the kings who hail from Rajasthan, used to stand in the British court for 200 years. Why didn’t they show their bravery at that time? They are the kings only because they accepted the slavery of the British.
To remind you, after the protests against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film across the country including Rajasthan, its makers have changed the released date from December 1.
Ever since the day, it was announced the film is digging into the controversies. The Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi said that,
“Don’t provoke us. We’ll cut off her nose as soorpanaka’s nose was cut off…. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for distorting historical facts. He got money for this film from Dubai. We will not let it release. Don’t provoke us, we’ll start a Bharat Bandh.”
On Sunday, Chief BJP Co-ordinator of Haryana Suraj Pal announced to give an award of Rs 10 crore to behead Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He also announced that if Ranveer won’t take his words (in the support for the film) back then we will break his legs.
