Mumbai Hits By Massive High Tides: Disaster Force on High Alert

No any Mumbaikar wants to remember the month of July that came in the year 2005. Today, again the high tides are likely to make the things worse. A typhoon-like situation is expected to happen in the next 48 hours due to Heavy rainfall. The Disaster management team and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are on alert and water logging has been reported in several parts of the city. The BMC released a helpline number for emergencies – 1916.

People are asked to stay at home. Also, due to heavy rains, trains on the western line have been suspended. Maharashtra government has issued orders to all offices to allow their employees to leave early to avoid any mishap due to the heavy rainfall. Teams of the National Disaster Response Force have been warned to be ready to fight against this natural calamity.
