Former star cricketer of Pakistan Mohammad Yousuf (Yousuf Youhana previously) recently made a statement about current star player of team India, Virat Kohli that he is an excellent batsman but out of Sachin and Dravid’s league. However, he spent his childhood days in immense poverty and struggles. Even after leaving cricket he worked as a tailor and auto-rickshaw driver. Born in 1974 his father worked at a Railway Station. His family used to live in a nearby Railway colony. He was interested in playing cricket from a very early age. In 1998 after going through many struggles he made his international debut in cricket for Pakistan. He played opposite South Africa but didn’t leave a mark with his performance. He made only 5 runs. However, in the next 6 test matches, he made 442 runs in total with an average of 44 and proved himself that he is here to stay.
Pakistan Cricket Board banned him
On March 10, 2010, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) accused him of Pakistan’s defeat against Australia. An inquiry was made on him and Pakistan Cricket Board released an official statement that he will never be a part of Pakistan cricket team again. As he was accused of making planning or plotting against his own teammates. After the ban, on March 29, 2010, Yousuf announced his retirement from international cricket.
PCB called him back
In July, Pakistan team lost his match against England badly. After that, PCB called Yousuf back to join the team again. He made 56 runs in a third Test match against England. And the match he played in Lords was his last Test match of the career. He played his last one day match of the career against South Africa.
He converted into a Muslim
Yousuf Youhana converted from a Christian to a Muslim in 2005. After that, he changed his name to Mohammad Yousuf and grew a beard. His mother went into a shock after his decision and said he is not a part of her family now.
