16 Year Old German Schoolgirl Who Ran Away From Home To Join ISIS Is Captured In Mosul

A 16-year-old German schoolgirl named Linda Wenzel, who ran away from home to join Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has allegedly been captured in the Mosul, Iraq. She was found with the other female members of ISIS in a tunnel, some of them were also wearing suicide vests.

Last year, she fled Germany and entered the Syria via Turkey. Reportedly, she had fallen in love with the boy from war torn Syria, whom she met online. According to her friends, in Germany, she started learning Arabic and often took the Koran to school.

In 2016, Linda’s mother had given an interview which was reported by The Sun in which she said: “When she did not come back and then I found out she had never even been there, I called the police. In her room, they found a print of a plane ticket to Istanbul under the mattress. I was shocked, my daughter has never stolen or lied about anything before. She got a proper brainwashing I hope we can get her back.”

Meanwhile, Chief Prosecutor Lorenz Haase said: “There are new findings in the criminal investigation that are being tested. When she is clearly identified, the investigation will be resumed. ”
