On July 12, an explosive was found in the premises of Uttar Pradesh Assembly by a security officer with the help of the dog squad. Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath called a high-level meet and said that the NIA (National Investigation Agency) should be given the charge to investigate the matter.

On Thursday, during an ongoing Assembly session, a packet was found under the seat of Samajwadi Party MLA Manoj Pandey containing a white powder, weighing 60 grammes.
The packet was then sent to the forensic laboratory for tests where they later found that it was a plastic explosive, PETN (Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate).

According to the Deccan Chronicle, CM Adityanath said at a high-level meeting on Friday, “Strong security system must be established as this could be a terror conspiracy. Security guidelines must be issued and everyone must follow them.”
Yesterday, in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly he said: ““Everyone needs to be cautious related to security matters. Police verification needs to be done for workers in assembly. PETN explosives were found, action must be taken against those involved.”
