Malala Yousafzai Joins Twitter and Made Record of Gaining 100,000 Followers Instantly

Malala Yousafzai who is the youngest recipient of Nobel Prize has completed her studies at school. She finished her secondary school on Friday and officially joined Twitter and jus within a few minutes she became the Internet sensation. She gained an impressive 100,000 followers. 

According to some reports, it has some kind of record that a person gets 100,000 followers just after the 30 minutes of its debut. The 19 years old has more than tripled that number to hit over 367,000 followers on the Twitter, at the time of writing an estimated 14 hours after her first tweet.

In her first tweet, she wrote, “Hi, Twitter”, simply. This got 154,008 likes, 32,944 retweets and triggered over 5,800 responses. However, on a reminding note, she joined the Twittersphere in 2012 but her account remained empty until Friday’s posting.

She is an activist who hails from Pakistan. In 2012 at age 15, the schoolgirl activist was shot in the head by the Taliban. She survived her injury and forced to escape to Britain. After that, she quickly rose to become a global symbol of defiance against Islamist violence and a voice for female education rights.

In the year 2014, she received the Nobel Peace Prize and became the youngest-ever recipient. In the same year, she was awarded Messenger of Peace designation another prestigious award by United Nations.
