If you use Ola cabs to go office or somewhere else then this news is for you! In a shocking incident from Kochi, a driver of an online taxi service, Ola Cabs, has been accused of physically assaulting a woman passenger following a tiff over payment. The argument got so heated that the driver slapped the woman.

The Bengaluru-based woman told that she was allegedly slapped on the face by the driver and abused. It all started when the duo had an argument over payment through cash. The argument turned into a never ending quarrel and the driver lost his cool completely. The incident happened when the woman tried to pay electronically through her e-wallet.

The name of the woman is Aveta Thampatty, she is a native of Mavelikkara and a resident of Bengaluru. She is working as a Digital Marketing Manager. She booked the Ola cab to travel from Lulu Mall to Panampilly Nagar at around 8.45pm on Tuesday. The police officials told the media that,

“The driver wanted the woman to pay Rs 247, the fare in cash. The woman who had money in her e-wallet (Ola money smart card) however didn’t have liquid cash with her.”

This made the driver angry on her and the things went worse when the women asked the driver to approach Ola support team in case he wanted a clarification. Aveta took Facebook to share the incident and said,

“I had already paid by Ola wallet and I didn’t have cash. This guy started accusing me and when I raised my voice, he slapped me on my face. Kerala is very unsafe to travel. He was showering abusive words on me. Really helpless situation.”
