Reliance Jio is coming back again to disrupt the Indian market. The company will launch its 4G VoLTE Phone at just Rs.500 later this month(July). Most probably the announcement will take place at the annual general meet of Reliance Industries on July 21.

As per the data till April 2017, the company has already registered over 112 million subscribers. According to The Economic Times, Rajiv Sharma, HSBC director and telecoms analyst said: ” The Mukesh Ambani-led company will introduce the 4G phone at a paltry Rs 500 (sub-$8) to lure 2G subscribers to directly switch to 4G. Jio subsidizing each handset by as much as $10-15 (Rs 650-975).”

Jio in collaboration with Chinese phone makers like Crave, Zhejiang Techchain and Megaphone has placed orders for 18-20 million of these 4G phones.
A top executive of one of the leading telecos said: “This launch can create the next wave of disruption in the telecom market. Not just us, but the existing players could surely lose a chunk of their low-end voice customers — most of whom are pre-paid – once this 4G featurephone is launched.”
The executive further added: “We won’t get into this device price war. Let’s see how deep the hit is. Bloodbath in the market can continue for another year.”
