On 25 June 2017, Sushruthi Krishna crowned Sana Dua of Jammu and Kashmir as 1st Runner-up in Femina Miss India 2017. The 24-year-old Kashmiri beauty was born in a Sikh family and has a Muslim name. She is a model, lawyer and former campus princess finalist.

Sana is born in Assam but her family has roots in Jammu and Kashmir. She has done her graduation from Panjab University in law. In 2015, she was one of the finalists from Chandigarh for Miss Diva.
In 2016, Sana was crowned as Femina Style Diva. She also appeared on the cover of Femina Magazine for the July issue.
According to The Times Of India, Sana said: “This is what I wanted for myself and I am so thrilled that I finally have a platform to achieve my dream. This is just the beginning. I always wanted to participate in a beauty pageant, but before going for it, I wanted to complete my education. So once I had a law degree and some work experience, I devoted all my time to grooming myself.”

She further added: “I think the discipline which is taught at Army schools can prepare you for any competition in the world. The other thing which I learned while studying in different schools is how to interact with people. I was exposed to so many different cultures that I can adjust to any environment. All these things really helped me when I moved to Mumbai to prepare for the final rounds.”
Sana also feels proud because she represents Jammu and Kashmir at the fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2017. She wants to set up a grooming school for the girls in J&K to provide them the right training and platform.
