However, one can only avail this offer if you make your purchase via the Airtel Payments Bank, a smart movie to promote its payment banks among its customer. This Airtel offer is also an aim to compete against the recently announced Reliance Jio offer that let the customers receive 100 percent cashback on recharge of its Rs.399 plan.

The new offer provides the customers the 100 percent cashback over a period of seven months in the form of a Rs. 50 discount when you purchase the next recharge. Once you do your first recharge, the Airtel Payments Back will add Rs. 50 discount automatically while buying the next recharge. The cashback will be only applicable once a month and the best part is you can use the sum of transactions made through the Payment Banks as well, not just Airtel recharge. However, you must remember that to avail the offer, you need to purchase the Rs.349 plan only from the MyAirtel app.

If you’re unaware of what the Rs. 349 Airtel offer is about, it provides you with 28GB of 4G data valid for 28 days. Additionally, this plan also comes bundled with free local and STD calls for 28 days. You’ll get 1000 minutes of free calls per week without being charged. Exceeding the limit will get you charged 10 paise per minute to other Airtel numbers and 30 paise per minute to other mobile networks. Similarly, you’ll only get 250 minutes per day as the free limit, exceeding it will get you charged the same as it was mentioned above.

After the launch of Reliance Jio, Airtel and Jio are locked in a battle to become the king of the Indian telecom sector, which the latter gathered an upper hand by providing free calls and data since it started operations in 2016. Although, all the other telecom networks have started offering data and calls bundled in relatively affordable plans, Reliance Jio has steadily been making progress, as its plans are more in line with consumer requirements. So, this would be interesting to see how Airtel stands up in the battle to rule India’s vast telecom sector.
