How To Expertly Design Your Master Bedroom

Master bedrooms should be a haven that we can’t wait to retreat to at the end of the day. But many of us struggle to create the perfect space, often ending up with clutter and a mismatch of styles. Here, we explore some top tips that will help you create a beautiful master bedroom.
Choose the Right Size Furniture
When styling a master bedroom, make sure you choose furniture which is the appropriate size for the room. If you are lucky enough to have a large room, find furniture that adequately fills your space without it feeling overcrowded. On the other hand, if you have a small room, avoid large pieces and instead opt for innovative storage solutions such as drawers under the bed.
Staple items such as high-quality wardrobes can be bought in a variety of sizes, from small options with double doors to large quadruple pieces. Make sure you accurately measure your room before purchasing, considering any windows, doors or features such as fireplaces.

Pick an Appropriate Style
Do you live in a new-build with modern fixtures and fittings? Do you have a period terraced property with historic features? Do you live in a countryside cottage? Before settling on a style, think about the type of home you live in and the interior style that will suit it the best. For example, if you live in a cottage in the countryside with beautiful beams and exposed brickwork, you will probably find that a farmhouse style will work the best. Alternatively, if you live in a new inner-city apartment, a modern style may be more appropriate. Once you’ve settled on your style, stick to it.
Choose a Complementary Colour Scheme
When selecting your colour scheme, firstly think about the size of your space. If your interior is small, inject colours and patterns through soft furnishings such as bedding, curtains or cushions, then use a more neutral colour on your walls. Alternatively, if you have a large room, experiment with patterns and colours on your Wall.
If you want to be bold, why not use a patterned wallpaper? Or for a burst of colour, create a feature wall. Pick a wall that makes sense as the focal point of the room, such as the one the bed is pushed against, and paint it a deep or dark colour. The key to this is to keep the rest of the walls more neutral to achieve the desired effect.
