Top 5 Vampires in Anime!

Hello to all!

It is that one time of the year where everyone gives thought to the creatures that go bump in the night!

That’s right, I’m talking about Halloween!

And aside from the Halloween discount on House of Khepru ~ Induction, today I’ll be doing this special article to celebrate this great time of the year:

The Top 5 Vampires in Anime!

Before getting started, I want to lay down a couple rules.

I will only consider characters from Anime, so don’t expect any manga only characters.

Also, there may be spoilers here for any series you may not have seen yet, so if you see a title you haven’t watched, you have been warned!

And finally, this list is my personal opinion, so if I don’t mention a character you know, feel free to tell me about them in the comments below. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Now, enough of this introduction! Let’s get started!

5. Youko Shiragami (Actually, I Am…)

This is by far one of the cutest characters I have seen in recent memory.

Youko Shiragami, the main female protagonist of Actually, I Am…, is a young Vampire girl who tries to keep the fact that she is a creature of the night a secret. But when she is discovered by Asahi, our main protagonist, he promises to help keep her secret. From there, hilarity ensues!

Youko is relatively new to the anime world, but she has definitely made an impact. Despite being a creature of the night, she is quite adorable, both in looks and personality.

She can be a bit on the clumsy side, as well as an air head, but the only adds to the cute-factor.

However, I can’t put her any higher, mostly due to the fact a lot of her vampire qualities and played out very subtly.

Instead of getting burnt by sunlight, she just tans easily. Instead of being repelled by crosses, they only make her angry.

Still, she takes Number 5 on the list simply for being so cute.

4. Moka Akashiya/Inner Moka (Roasrio + Vampire and Rosario + Vampire Capu2)

While Moka may be about as adorable as Youko, she does have one major advantage.

Her other half, Inner Moka, can kick some serious ass!

While she is technically two characters in one, since they’re different personalities who share a body, I consider them the same character.

While she possesses incredible strength in her true vampire form, it can only be achieved by removing the rosary from around her neck, a feat only Tsukune Aono, our main protagonist has been able to do.

Personally, I prefer the sweet and bubbly Moka to her aggressive counterpart, but for having some actual combat prowess, the two of then take Number 4.

3. Sleepy Ash (SerVamp)

Another new comer to the sphere of anime, Sleepy Ash is one of seven vampire siblings known as SerVamps.

Despite being the oldest, Sleepy Ash is by far the worst example to his brothers ands sister.

However he is a force to be reckon with in battle. When under the command of Mahiru Shirota, he can take down a vampire as powerful as Belkia with a single attack.

However, while he may be powerful, he does have one major flaw…

He is literally the embodiment of Sloth, so even though he’s strong, he’s often too lazy to do anything without Mahiru commanding him.

Even so, Sleepy Ash, takes Number 3.

2. Dio Brando (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure)

One of the most well known vampires in anime, Dio Brando is beyond powerful.

While he may have started off as a normal man hungry for power, after getting a tatse of vampirism, he proceeded with his plan to take over the world, and shape it into his own image.

Despite being unable to go out in sunlight, he managed to survive with sheer tenacity and wit.

On top of everything, his powers go beyond normal vampirism. From freezing his enemies solid, to shooting lasers from his eyes, to reattaching his severed head to another body. In Part Three : Stardust Crusaders, he even gained the power to stop time!

However, he is still vunerable to the extent that his own ego his is greatest weakness. That very arrogance is what led to his defeat at the hands of Jotaro Kujo.

But, he still takes Number 2 for being one of the two greatest vampires in anime.

Number 1, on the other hand…

1. Alucard (Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate)

A lot of you probably saw this coming, but Alucard is truly the only choice for the best vampire in anime.

Not only is he immune to the normal vampire weaknesses, such as garlic and sunlight, he has achieved power far beyond any other vampire in existence thanks to the Hellsing Organization.

On top of immortality, he possesses super strength, super speed, summoning abilities, shape-shifting, and so may others that I can’t list them here.

Also, out of the five characters on this list, Alucard is the most complex character.

After becoming a vampire and achieving his goal in the past, he actually deeply regrets his decision to become immortal, and now works with Integra Hellsing in hopes of finding someone strong enough to take him out.

But as long as he is around, Alucard shall always be the Number 1 vampire in anime.

Thanks for reading, and have a fun and safe Halloween.
