Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Roald Dahl
Arguably Roald Dahl's most famous Book (It has 2 movies based on it) has gotten a new cover for 2011 (40th Year Anniversary). It really makes no difference from the original release of the book except that the cover was altered a bit.
Since I watched the 2005 movie last summer, I decided to compare this book to the movie. I'll spot the main differences between them.
- Willy Wonka's Costume: In the book Mr. Wonka wears green and purple, but in the movie Wonka is wearing a red and black one.
- Violet grows to a larger size in the movie than depicted in the book.
- Mike doesn't have guns in the movie while in the book he has about 2 dozen of them strapped all over him.
- Charlie's lucky dollar is a 1 dollar bill while in the movie it is a 10 dollar instead.
- The books states that every kids' (except Charlie's) mom and dad accompanied them in the factory. However in the movie only one parent accompanies each child.
I would recommend this book to any fan of Roald Dahl.
