Exploring the Wonderful World of the Cryptids!

Here at The Magical Animal Adoption Center, we have a wing just for Cryptids! Some of them are not up for adoption, but some of them are! So, without further ado, Cryptids!:

Squatch the Sasquatch

Up for Adoption: No

You can find out more about Squatch in our “Non-adoptable Magical Creatures” post.

Chuppy-Chup the Chupacabra and his family

Up for Adoption: Yes! (some of them)

Chuppy-Chup and his family (a mother, a father, a brother, and twin sisters) were looking for a new place to live after local goat farmers closed up their burrow in fear that they would eat their goats (in reality Chuppy-Chup and his family are of the semi-rare vegetarian family of chupacabras). Chuppy-Chup and his twin sisters, Clara and Carla (not shown above, but just picture Chuppy-Chup, but with pointier ears and stripes on their backs instead of spots (you can’t see the spots in the picture)), are of the age that they usually find a burrow of the own, so they are being put up for adoption, as they seem to like humans very much! His mother, Charlotte, father, Charlie, and brother, Giggly-Wiggly, will be living at The Center in a burrow of their own, safe from any burrow-closing goat farmers! Note: The twins, Clara and Carla, must be adopted together. Also, any of them can be adopted by Goat Farmers, they have no prejudice against them.

Jeggle the Jersey Devil

Up for adoption: Yes!

Despite his devil-ish appearance (and species name), Jeggle the Jersey Devil is actually very friendly! And we should know, because our Alicorn, Magicalyn, is a wonderful (and magical) judge of character! Jeggle was looking for a new place to live after a road was built in the section of forest he lived in. But instead of moving deeper into the forest and living with the rest of the Jersey Devils, Jeggle flew right out of the woods and into a town, where he promptly made his home in an open mailbox. Employees of The Magical Animal Adoption Center came and brought him to the center, where we learned that he is afraid of the dark! So we are putting him up for adoption so he can find a wonderful home where he can have a place to live that is not too dark!

Champolion the Champlain Lake Monster

Up for adoption: No

Some of you may have heard of Champ, the monster of Lake Champlain. Well, on an expedition to save Magical Creatures in New York, we discovered that there is another Magical Lake Creature living there: Champolion! It turns out that there is not quite enough room in the lake Champlain for Champolion, so we took him back to The Center, and he is now living happily in an enormous tank!

Quessie the Loch Ness Monster

Up for Adoption: No

On an expedition to Loch Ness, we discovered Quessie, another Loch Ness Monster that was looking for a less-crowded home. So we gave her an enormous tank at The Center. She is a very cute Sea Serpent, and very playful!

Abominable Bob the Yeti (and the rest!)

Up for adoption: Yes (some of them)

Abominable Bob the Yeti might be called Abominable, but he is only about the size of our Flying Pig, Flyso! He is a three-toed pygmy Yeti from the Himalayas. He, along with three other Yeti’s (named Joe, Bo, and Roberta), were in search of a new home after their cave was covered with snow. Abominable Bob is up for adoption because he likes to play with humans, but the other three are very shy and will be staying at The Center. Note: Abominable Bob is only up for adoption to someone who lives in a place where it gets at least a bit cold in the winter (under 50 degrees fahrenheit at least, though under 30 degrees fahrenheit would be best), or at least to someone who can provide a cold habitat for him at that time of year (he is perfectly fine with living a freezer!). Above: A drawing of Abominable Bob expressing a look of disbelief that there are no  bagel chips left.

Jackalopes

Up for adoption: Yes!

We found a herd of 10 Jackalopes being attacked by a species of coyote native to their area. We rescued the Jackalopes, but they still needed a place to live, it turned out that they had mistakenly wandered onto the coyote’s land while trying to find a place to live, and the coyotes had thought the Jackalopes were attacking them. The Jackalopes are named Jackson, Jackie, Jack, Jackyln, Jackyll, Jackeline, Jackeleen, Jacko, Jackob, and Jackalopeo. They are up for adoption. They are very friendly and get along well with rabbits and any animals with antlers.

Furry Trout

Up for adoption: Yes!

This colony of 20 Furry Trout were looking for a new home after their section of a river became a hot-spot for fishing. We rescued them and brought them back to The Center. Their names are: Furry, Furro, Furrle, Furrell, Furrensic, Furrall, Furrgle, Furrby, Furrso, Furrsy, Furrso the Second, Furrmond, Furrnando, Furrly, Furrgly, Furrzy, Furr, Furro, Furrgo, and Furryfluff. Note: They must be in water at all times, so anyone who adopts a Furry Trout must either live near a lake where they can live safely, or have a large tank ready for them.

Celia the Coelacanth

Up for adoption: No

Celia the Coelacanth, one of our few Cryptids that have been proven to be real, was rescued from a fisherman’s net that was caught underwater. We brought her back to The Center while she recovered, but we could not release her back into her habitat, because too many people were fishing there now. So she now lives happily at The Center in an enormous tank!

Big Squid the Giant Squid

Up for adoption: No

Big Squid the Giant Squid, another one of our few Cryptids that have been proven to be real, was looking for a new place to live after a small under-sea cave-in blocked the entrance to Big Squid’s Grotto. He couldn’t find another Grotto that suited him, so we brought him back to The Center, where he is living in an enormous Grotto that we made just for him!

And remember, you have to believe in our Magical Creatures to see them!
