‘Uncle Buck‘ has been cancelled after one season on ABC.

The finale episode Aired this past Tuesday night after a short-lived run of eight total episodes.  These were aired over the course of the past four weeks with two premiering each Tuesday night.

For those unfamiliar with the premise, “Uncle Buck” is based on the 1989 film of the same name starring John Candy and written/directed by the late John Hughes.  It revolves around a family who is forced to allow their irresponsible Uncle to babysit the children while the parents are away.  The series starred comedian Mike Epps in the titular role.

ames Lesure, one of the show’s stars, broke the news on Wednesday when he tweeted, “Disappointed. No more @ABCUncleBuck. Cancelled. Thankful,” he said in part, continuing, “Proud of what we’ve done. Thx 4 let us entertain u.”
