Beyoncé SPEAKS on Police Brutality

Beyoncé has spoken.

In the wake of the police shootings of Alton Steling, and Philando Castile, and others — Beyoncé took to her website to speak out on the injustices and to encourage everyone to use their voice to make a change.

In the letter, Beyoncé writes “we’re going to stand up as a community and fight against anyone who believes that murder or any violent action by those who are sworn to protect us should consistently go unpunished,” and goes on to point out that the burden of this fight should not fall exclusively on one community but on everyone. “This is a human fight. No matter your race, gender, or sexual orientation.”

The letter provides links to contact sites for congresspeople, as well as the Louisiana and Minnesota state legislatures (the states in which the most recent killings took place), and ends on an optimistic note: “your voice will be heard.”

The site continues,

We all have the power to channel our anger and frustration into action. We must use our voices to contact the politicians and legislators in our districts and demand social and judicial changes.
