It’s pretty neat to think that living in South Florida, you could have met or gone to school with famous celebrities while growing up here. There are many celebrities that were born in South Florida. Here is a list of a few of them and what they are famous for.

Famous Celebrities from Ft. Lauderdale

Nikki Taylor – Nikki Taylor is a famous model and was named People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 1991.  She was the youngest model to appear on the cover of vogue at the age of 15. She has represented famous brands such as Cover Girl, Nokia, and Sports Illustrated. She has been seen more recently on Celebrity Apprentice in 2011. The model was raised in Pembroke Pines Florida. Nikki Taylor attended Cooper City High School.

Joanna Bonaro – Joanna Bonaro has starred in many legendary TV series including Boardwalk Empire, Law and Order SVU, Black Box and The Sopranos. Joanna was born in Fort Lauderdale Florida in 1964 but spent time in New York and attended The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Joanna has been a cervical cancer survivor since 2002.

Jason Kennedy– Jason Kennedy has been a news correspondent for E! News since 2005. His dreams of becoming a news host began in Fort Lauderdale Florida, where he had a studio set up in his basement. He was first on the air at the age of 15. Jason Kennedy went to school at the University of Miami. He landed a career with the TV Guide Channel and went on to report for E! News.

Bailee Madison – Bailee Madison was born in Fort Lauderdale Florida in 1999. She has been in many popular movies such as Bridge to Terabithia, Brothers, Don’t be Afraid of the Dark and Just Go With It. She has also acted in TV series such as Trophy Wife, CSI NY, Law and Order SVU, Once Upon a Time and the Fosters. She plays a young girl in most of these roles.

Eric Nelson – Eric Nelson is known for acting in A Walk Among the Tombstones, Epic and Chasing Yesterday. Eric Nelson also has worked to accomplish many voice overs for big name brand commercials such as Toyota, Starburst, Mountain Dew and Sports Authority. He was born in West Palm Beach in 1991.

Douglas Kennedy – Douglas Kennedy is the writer of Animal House. He helped work to start national Lampoon Magazine and National Lampoon Radio Hour. Not much is known about Douglas Kennedy but he did help bring a new form of satire humor into the world of comedy as we knew it. We was born in 1946 in West Palm Beach Florida.
