10 Hollywood Movies Totally Inspired By Anime and Manga


1.BLACK SWAN INSPIRED BY ANIME PERFECT BLUE

Perfect Blue doesn't follow the exact same plot as Black Swan but there are striking similarities. Both stories feature a troubled protagonist. But when you watch the two shows you really see  big similarities in both those psychological thriller. But Aronofsky has already categorically denied that claim. But wait why In both movies, the young, innocent protagonist has just moved on to a more demanding job, and after a while they gets chased by a "double" who may or may not be the product of their imagination.


2.PACIFIC RIM INSPIRED BY ANIME GUNDAM WING

Mecha anime is one of the most popular subgenres. "Pacific Rim" movie is of course derivative of many Mecha Anime, from "Evengelion", "Mazinger Z" and "Gundam," but Gundam Wing, is the series which Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro has clearly expressed his love for. So undoubtedly Pacific Rim Maybe Based or at least influenced by Gundam Series. 

3.Snow White and The Huntsman Inspired By Princess Mononoke

Both Films  aren’t that all that similar, but During watching Snow White and the Huntsman as I saw a scene in the movie and it reminded me of the scene from Princess Mononoke. everything in the forest scene was similar to that in Princess Mononoke, which  make the film less like Snow White, and more like Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke.

4.The Matrix Inspired By Ghost In The Shell

Directors  Wachowskis didn't hesitate to express their love for Ghost in the Shell are  and they revealed that they were really inspired by the Mamoru Oshii anime,  Ghost in the Shell,  and sometimes they thought about taking permission from the Author, both the Anime and Movie are Amazing to watch go watch them and have some fun bro!

5. Inception INSPIRED BY  PAPRIKA

ideas behind Inception were actually ‘inspired’ by the Japanese anime, Paprika, the director Christopher Nolan,  admitted to using Paprika as an inspiration, but some claim that the plot also bears spooky similarities,  I loved Paprika, and loved Inception even more. I know the comparisons are shocking, but both shows worth watching.

6. Fast & Furious Inspired by: Redline

Redline is a science fiction auto racing anime film produced by Madhouse and released in Japan on October 9, 2010, A daredevil driver (Takuya Kimura) falls for an alluring woman (Yû Aoi) as he tries to win a race that occurs only once every five years. Due to its long-term in production redline became infamous, rumor has it that many scenes in fast & furious were being adapted from redline anime, Im not sure but its exciting to  see these two shows.

7. Lion King Inspired by: Kimba the White Lion

Lion King was accused of intellectual theft by the creators of the animated Kimba the White Lion, The animator Tom Sito denies it, and  says he might have been unconsciously inspired by it, seriously who will believe you master Tom, just look at the similarities between both shows and decide yourself. plus Fred Ladd, the executive producer of Kimba The White Lion , on seeing The Lion King for the first time"I said to my wife, 'Don't tell me that the father lion is going to appear in the clouds.' And he did! I couldn't believe it!".

8. Atlantis: The Lost Empire inspired by: Nadia - The secret of blue water

"Atlantis - The Lost Empire", Disney's latest movie (release date: June 15, 2001), was quite similar to "Nadia - The secret of blue water" (Gainax - 1991) Both movies are ripping off 100 years worth of pulp cliches., Both Atlantis and Nadia cite 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Vernes, they both got similar characters design. It's like the Kimba/Lion King thing. the weird thing is that The team denies any knowledge of Nadia.

9.Dark City Inspired By: Akira
Dark City is a 1998 American neo-noir science fiction film directed by Alex Proyas Proyas called the end battle a "homage to Otomo's Akira", but for me it wasn't only a tribute movie as Mr Proyas borrowed a lot from Akira. this original Anime & Manga became iconic hits, and Dark City's climactic battle is an obvious nod to the final battle in the Anime. nothing beats originality.

10. Death Note Inspired by: Death Note

there was already so many announcements revealing that Death Note Is planned to have A Hollywood Adaptation As soon AS Possible so This one isn't out yet. but because of the huge love, Respect, and success which this Anime and Manga had got worldwide, everyone is probably interested in seeing how Death Note Live Action will turns out.The US adaptation is coming out in 2017 through Netflix, and Williem Dafoe will be playing Ryuk. Just lets hope that Death Note Upcoming Movie Will have a decent Adaptation.
