Blockchain technology has proved highly effective in stamping out corruption from the countries. Last year, we saw the adaptation of Blockchain technology for wiping out corruption in Honduras which is one of the most corrupt countries across the world. And now Bitland has started a similar campaign in the Western region of Africa. The main objective of this blockchain initiative is to restrain the growth of corruption and to release trillions of dollars stuck in the locked capital. Then these funds will be used for the infrastructure development in the country as per the reports issued by Forbes.

Another prime focus of the initiative will be to spread awareness among the local citizens regarding this technology and to provide them a legal ownership of their land and property. The campaign will start from Ghana and then cover the whole western African region.

The Execution Plan

A proficient team of tech pioneers from Denmark, United States and Ghana itself are taking part in the initiative. As per the initial plans, various land surveys will be conducted by a team of experts to make a record of all the Land Titles on a blockchain-based ledger. This will create a permanent and auditable account of all the land titles.

Bitland is targeting Ghana first because around 78% of the land in Ghana is still unregistered and requires immediate attention. The plan is to start from Ghana and then expand throughout the Africa. As a matter of fact, Bitland has already introduced the blockchain infrastructure in 28 different communities of Kumasi City which is one of the most populated regions of Ghana.

Bitland Centres & Education Centres

To expand the network, Bitland is going to install a number of solar-powered Centres. These Bitland centres will work as hardware hubs for the wireless network so formed.

No big campaign can be successful without the involvement and support of the local citizens. And needless to say, it is very important to spread awareness among the locals about the latest technologies that are being used for their own welfare. To ensure that, Bitland is also going to establish several Education Centres where the locals may learn and know about the fundamental prospects of the blockchain technology.

Distribution Of Digital Tokens

Bitland is going to issue its own digital tokens known as Cadastrals. These Cadastrals will be the entry tokens for the citizens to gain access to the blockchain platform. In fact, these Cadastrals will be the most fundamental and pivotal unit of the Bitland ecosystem.

Building Smart Cities

Bitland’s blockchain initiative not only enforces the infrastructure development but it also gives a prime emphasis on digitization of the country. This paves way for the development of smart cities equipped with latest technological advancements. The basic idea is to create a digital ecosystem where the citizens can settle all their land-related disputes using their mobile phones and by virtue of the internet.   

Difficulties That May Arise

This whole initiative is undoubtedly a major venture and no matter how straight and subtle it sounds, it’s never going to be easy. The biggest challenge might be the digitization of land registries. There must be a single registry which represents a consistent ledger of all the land titles. First of all, Bitland is going to convert the paper data into a digital format. But unfortunately most of the official documents are outdated. To make things worse, the locals use different ways to record their land titles which will only add to the complexities.

Alas, these were not the only problems. Many regions of Ghana lack a good infrastructure and rolling power-cuts is yet another barrier which hampers the development. To deal with that, Bitland is going to install a number of solar-powered centres so that electricity fluctuation won’t be a problem.
