Mrs. Lordina Mahama, Ghana’s First Lady, has advised all mothers in all over the Africa to support the ‘End Child Marriage’ Movement by union forces with the governments to end of the Child Marriage.

Lordina Mahama requested the mothers to make sure that their children are set aside in school and permitted to climb the educational ladder so, they become valuable in future.

Later, on Mother’s Day, she wrote in a Facebook message to mothers that, “As a mother, the exercise of child marriage breaks my heart and so essential it be to all Mothers. It also harmfully affects the future of thousands of young girls through Ghana and outside.”

In her message she also motivated mothers in Ghana, to take part in the Annual Vaccination Week to confirm children and infants get the necessary free vaccination as a key to reduce the child death.

She wrote “As President of the Organization of African 1st Ladies Against HIV & AIDS (OAFLA), and along with my partner First Ladies, we have united hands to struggle to achieve our common dream of “making Africa a continent free from HIV and AIDS, a place where women and girls are empowered to enjoy equal rights and opportunities and Maternal and Child Mortality”.

Lordina Mahama said the Organization of African 1st Ladies are working to surety access and investments in life-saving inoculations for African new-borns, mothers, children and youngsters.

The 1st Lady has also pleaded working mothers not to abandon their valued traditional role of providing care services for the family in spite of the challenges that challenge them as working women.
