Jurassic World Movie Review - Thumbs Up

Happy Father's Day to all the great dad's out there! I went and saw Jurassic World in 3D with my son last Friday, before taking him to his mother's for the summer. We had seen the preview a couple months back while watching another movie. This is only the 2nd 3D movie I've seen and the first non-animated one. First off I'd like to say the theater we saw the movie at is outstanding! It's the Regal Starlight Stadium 14 off Hwy 29 right by the I-485 on ramp in Charlotte, NC. When they renovated the theater they put in electric leather reclining chairs and it seats less people, which I prefer. When you order tickets through Fandango online or on the app you can choose your seat, which is awesome! Then when you get to the theater they can scan the ticket straight from your smartphone.

Now, on to the movie. This is actually the 4th Jurassic series movie. The first one was Jurassic Park (1993), 2nd was Jurassic Park: The Lost World (1997), and the 3rd was Jurassic Park III (2001). I'll be honest with you, I don't think I ever watched the second or third one. At least I don't remember watching them. I may have to purchase them on Blu-ray and watch them.

So the movie takes place on an island in a theme park, just like the other Jurassic movies. So they can control the dinosaurs in case they get out of control, at least that's my opinion. (forgive me if I'm wrong because I haven't seen Jurassic Park in a long time). This time the theme park is fully up and running with attractions. The visual effects for this movie are unbelievable, which is expected in this day and age! Like most Stephen Spielberg movies it has it's cheesy funny moments. In this movie they're better than some of his past movies, because they're not overly cheesy and perfectly placed.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard do a great job in their leading rolls. The kids in the movie do a great job as well. The movie is pretty well balanced with the story-line. It has those moments when everything is fine, other moments when your scared for the characters life, and the moments that make you jump out of your seat. Which is always exciting! In this Jurassic movie you'll even get to see dinosaurs battling it out and it has a great ending, I don't want to give too much of it away.  The 3D was awesome too!

I'd recommend seeing Jurassic World if you get a chance, and it's even better if you get a chance to see it in 3D! I may even pick this one up on Blu-ray when it's released.
