It was off to the races at Churchill Downs, Saturday, and Nyquist ran to perfection.
He won the 142nd Kentucky Derby, sparking hopes of a SECOND consecutive Triple Crown champion.
With jockey Mario Gutierrez at the reigns, Nyquist pulled away from Gun Runner down the stretch and then held off a closing charge by Exaggerator.
Off the tracks, fans had even more to cheer about, including their outfits.

There will be more exciting minutes to come, the next leg of the Triple Crown heads to Baltimore for the Preakness Stakes on May 21.
