Not content with winning one of the biggest awards in Hollywood, Swedish actress Alicia Vikander has now landed one of the most coveted roles, according to reports.
She’s beaten off numerous other stars to become the gun-toting adventuring archeologist Lara Croft in the reboot of ‘Tomb Raider’.
Lara Croft became an instantaneous gaming icon when she burst on the scene in the ‘Tomb Raider’ Playstation games famous for her double pistols and curves.
No release date has been revealed yet, but it’s been reported that Norweigan Roar Urthag will be in the director’s chair.
Angelina Jolie was the original actress to play the character in ‘Lara Croft Tomb Raider’, which is still one of the highest grossing action films with a female lead, so Alicia has got a lot to live up to.
