WARNING: Photos presented of THE WORST INDUSTRIAL DISASTER are creepy graphic and may be disturbing to some readers.
On December 1984, a storage tank at the Union Carbide Plant in Bhopal, India, cracked in the middle of the night without any warning. In an instant, over 27 tons of methyl isocyanate and some other disastrous gases turned at the moment the city into a gas chamber.
When the leak started, all of the plant’s safety systems were not in a function. Allegedly, the Union cut corners on maintenance and safety measures to save money.
It is considered one the most disastrous industrial disaster in human history. It’s long ago since pyres died out, but the haunting images and memories of that dreadful night are still profound. At that time, more than 25,000 people have died and over 150,000 people were left with difficulties.
30 years past since the catastrophe happened, but its aftermath will continue for decades, even centuries to come.
