Millennials aren’t the most “macho” supportive Generation. Sure you have your juice-head extremes. You have your block head jocks and your macho players. But for the most part the millennial generation is a super mix of Ying-Yang, even the athletes, even the body builders. Is being macho then, a dated, old school notion? I think, yes. Look this is the generation that is watching Jaden Smith wear a dress in ads and he DOESN’T identify as transgender. He just doesn’t think he has to wear pants. But he has a super girlfriend. This is the same generation focusing on less bullying. This is the generation who has been hearing terms like sexually fluid and polyamorous from their idols since day one, from Gaga, from Miley Cyrus even from rappers some of whom are coming out as homosexual. Is being macho as in the stereotypical notion of the word, is that out? No it will always have its place on the extreme spectrum but I think with this generation it’s definitely considered old school. These pups are more inclined to label you #tolerant or #whatev rather than proudly exclaim #macho. This is not the chip-off-the-old-block generation, Dad. Let’s face it, your boy is emotionally advanced and you, well you see those little laugh lines around your eyes starting to show up? Yep – the day is here. You are officially old school.
