Filming Nichola and Andy’s wedding near Aylesbury marked the furthest we’ve travelled to shoot a Wedding. And the travel was worth it – as we were treated to a cracking wedding at Notley Tythe Barn!

We started the day early with a drive from Worcester to Aylesbury (a town just south of Oxford). We filmed the bride and groom prep in the the town – Russ filming the groomsmen and Matt the bridesmaids. Russ managed to capture plenty of funny moments as the groomsmen cracked open the champagne to start the day off appropriately!

Nichola and Andy’s ceremony took place at the beautiful St Mary the Virgin Church in Weston Turville. Weston Turville is a quaint little village near Aylesbury that is well worth a visit. The church itself was fairly small, but had an olde England feel that made for some romantic after-ceremony shots around the churchyard.

From there, we switched gears and moved to Notley Tythe Barn, a lovely converted barn venue in the nearby town of Long Crendon. Buckinghamshire really is a splendid part of the country and these venues all had a very British appeal!

The reception was fun and upbeat, with a high-energy vibe. There were plenty of interesting people and the party kept going late into the night.

A real highlights for us came during the speeches when we witnessed one of the greatest Best Man speeches we’ve ever witnessed. It must rank as one of the all-time greatest of wedding speeches! It had both hilarity and poignance in equal measures, hitting all the right notes. It’s great to hear a speech that combines very emotive stories and laugh-out-loud humour. This was one for the ages!

Great to see an impromptu kick-around form as the evening rolled into night. Think it was kids vs. adults at one point?
