Wedding of Steph & Ross at Tapeley Park Devon

The Wedding of Steph and Ross at Tapeley Park Devon was an amazing day start to finish. There were a number of highlights, which captured a number of firsts for us as wedding videographers.

Firstly, this wedding represented the further distance we’ve gone to film a wedding to date. We travelled from the Midlands the day before, as we knew we’d need to be up for the crack of dawn capturing an early morning groomsmen swim!

Yes, that was another highlight and first for us at this wedding — filming the groomsmen starting the day with a swim in the sea was pretty awesome and made for a very memorable occasion. We’re told this is a Devonian thing!? Either way, we felt honoured to be included in these early morning festivities and with the drone out for the day, we were able to capture some stunning footage of the sea swim!

It was at the early morning swim that we met the photography, Laura Buffery. Laura, of Laura Buffery Photography, was really chilled out and easy to get along with. You can see some of her stunning work throughout this blog post.

After the morning swim, Matt went off to film the bridal preparations, whilst Russ went over to shoot the groomsmen getting ready. All of the locations were spread out around the very beautiful Bideford, a (surprisingly) tough to pronounce town in North Devon.

The ceremony took place at St. Michael’s Church in the tranquil and serene little village of Horwood. Couldn’t have had a more positive and welcoming vicar for this wedding. And that’s something to say, as any wedding vendor will tell you!

From there, we moved to the magnificently situated Tapeley Park, just outside Bideford. Tapeley Park has stunning views of the sea and in set amid beautiful scenery and stately home gardens.

Whilst we weren’t able to go inside due to renovations, a large marquee was erected for the meal and the gardens were large and welcoming. We got plenty of good footage in and around the gardens.

A particular highlight was the drone run we did for the creatives section of our shooting. We captured Steph and Ross walking all around the gardens and the drone footage of them walking up the huge garden staircase, in particular, looks fantastic!

As Ross’ family are Scottish, the night ended up an awesome Ceilidh dance. What a night it was! This was one of the most unique and memorable weddings we’ve ever filmed and we can’t wait to produce the film!

We send our best wishes to Steph and Ross, who were game for anything and had plenty of ideas. You were a lot of fun! All the best in your new lives together, guys!
