Swing Band Videos – Filming Shoot

Well what an exciting time it’s been this summer on the audio and video front.   Back in July, in the midst of our summer wedding and party season, we put aside a day from our busy schedule for a film shoot.

Surrey Wedding Venue – Cain Manor

We are especially grateful to Bijou Weddings for allowing us the use of their beautiful wedding venue,  Cain Manor, just outside Farnham in Surrey.  Filmed entirely in Cain’s beautiful oak-beamed banqueting hall known as the Music Room, with its cosy rustic barn-style charm and with far-reaching views over the North Downs and Surrey’s Golden Valley, we couldn’t help but be inspired for our new Swing Band Videos.

The beautiful Cain Manor – where we filmed our music videos

The Band pitched up early for a whole day’s filming and, staggeringly, we shot 13 songs in the day, mostly of our six piece band featuring male and female vocals, piano, double bass, drums and saxophone.  We also filmed a couple of videos with our smaller line-ups – the trio and quartet.  The result of which is now being released as I write on all our social media platforms.

Repertoire wise, our aim was to mix it up as much as we could.  We concentrated on songs that we felt our customers wanted to hear us play such as the timeless evergreen pop song “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” coupled with the Disney classic “You’ve Got A Friend in Me” from Toy Story.  Then we shot a original jive arrangement of Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” with a female vocal lead and a Swing version of the Meghan Trainor hit song “All About That Bass” with male vocal lead.  Of course, we wouldn’t be a Swing Band without recording some classic Sinatra and Bobby Darin songs so we threw them in the mix too.

(Here’s little preview which we hope you enjoy!)

As with any filming/recording session, the work that goes on behind the scenes is what makes a great end result.  We can’t thank our team enough for all their help which included choosing dresses, providing food and drink for the musicians and crew, the hiring of audio and video equipment, audio mixing and mastering and the 100% support of our musicians and singers.

To see and hear all the tracks as they’re released, do join us on our social media pages by clicking the relevant links at the top of the page.  The videos will, of course, be uploaded here on our website on our Simply Swing TV page.
