I have created a theme to have my art revolve around.
Addiction: an unusually great interest in something or a need to do or have something.
Individual Project #1: Smoking (November 3, 2014)
Smoking is an addiction that most people can relate to. They say if you try it once, that's all it takes. Both of my grandparents smoke; one of them brave enough to break their addiction. The first thing that comes to mind about smoking, is the effects it has on peoples lungs. They Turn a blackish gray color and look all shrived up and dried out. I really liked how it ended up turning out, because I was uncertain if I was going to like it or not the night before I had to turn it in. If you can't tell from the ending picture a change I made last minute was to paint over the cigarette I had originally drawn. Instead, I coiled a wire around a paintbrush and filled it with paper and tissue and lit it on fire for a three-dimensional aspect to add interest to the work.
