How to Get Better Audio with iPhone Video

Are you recording your videos with iPhone? If yes, you might not be getting that much great sound quality.

Today we present a simpler, yet cheaper solution to this annoying problem which ruins your footage later when you play your footage on your computer.

Preliminary Introduction

Today, we’re going to show you how to plug an External Microphone into your iPhone to achieve high quality Audio in your iPhone videos. All you need is an external microphone.

Right now I’m using an external microphone for this video. It is the Giant Squid Omnidirectional Lavalier microphone. You can get it on Amazon.

Get an Adapter

You also need an adapter to plug the microphone into you iPhone because you can’t plug it directly in, it won’t work. The plugs are a little bit different. The adapter is about 8 inches long, sometimes 10 inches long.

Then you need to plug your mic cable directly into that adapter. That’s all!

From now on, you just record your videos as you normally do and this time you’ll have high quality audio on your iPhone. You don’t have to do any syncing later in post processing.

What a lot of people do is they record, use a Lavalier microphone or an external microphone, and then they record into a field recorder.

After getting this done, they sync audio with video later. When you plug the microphone directly into your iPhone like this, you don’t need to sync any audio.

You just need to make your videos as normal and it would make your audio is 10 times better.

You have to keep in mind that there are a couple adapters on the kbconnection.com website that look exactly the same.

One is designed for microphones that have a battery, the other one is designed for microphones where battery doesn’t exist.

Make sure you check the descriptions of the adapters and get the one that’s appropriate for your microphone.
