Not only we were shocked to see Pierce Brosnan starring in Indian ads but also endorsing with a brand such as Pan Bahar. Various jokes were also formed on the former James Bond actor on Twitter. But now all ads of Pan Bahar featuring Pierce Brosnan would be banned. Read further to know why.

All Alcohol And Tobacco Product Ads Banned

Pierce Brosnan may no longer feature our TV screens with Pan Bahar television commercial. The acclaim goes to the chief of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Pahlaj Nihalani. All ads promoting alcohol and tobacco products have been banned from all electronic media and cinema television legally and constitutionally.

In a chat with DNA, CBFC chief spoke

“I haven’t seen the ad. But it is very difficult to believe Pierce Brosnan has done this. Money can hardly be a criteria when you’re selling death to people. However, he has chosen to do what he has done. But there is no way we can certify the ad. All pan masala, tobacco; alcohol ads are automatically and unconditionally banned.”

Even liquor ads featuring Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan have also been banned.

Pan Bahar on Pierce Brosnan Collaboration

Previously, when Pierce Brosnan had collaborated with Pan Bahar, the brand gave their statement to Indian Express.

“As we support our country’s ‘Make in India’ campaign, we are proud to have Mr. Brosnan on board and would like to thank him for lending his image for the short film of Pan Bahar and taking the brand to next level while making it classier with his elegance and style.”

Pan Bahar also said that despite the ad being popular on social media, there is lack of awareness among the people about the product. Pan Bahar is an Indian mouth freshener which contains betelnut, cardamom seeds, lime, catechu, kewara and sandalwood oil in it.

Pan Bahar Is No Nicotine No Tobacco Certified

The brand further stated that Pan Bahar is a no tobacco and no nicotine product which has also been certified.

Also confirming there is no tobacco product under this brand name… attached (is) the certificate for the declaration of NO Tobacco, No Nicotine from the brand. We need to convey the same to media so that they are aware of the fact before publishing any negative comments.

The advertisement may be banned but it definitely done its job and left an impression on people’s mind.
