For a pretty long time now, there’s been a growing perception that Marvel can’t keep up with its own success when it comes to video games. There’s really no argument to be made to the contrary, though there’s some hope that an upcoming 2017 title by Marvel and Telltale Games can break the trend. In the meantime, it’s left to Marvel fans to seek out their favorite characters in other areas of gaming not dependent on high-end consoles. And with most modern fans that begins with Iron Man, who thanks in large part to Robert Downey, Jr. has become probably the most popular Avenger, and whose history on consoles is regrettable. So where can you find some Iron Man games? Fortunately they’re out there, and three different areas of gaming come to mind.
Marvel’s Definitive MMO
Every Marvel fan who enjoys MMOs or RPGs in general ought to know about Marvel Heroes 2016, a game updated each year and featuring constantly expanding collection of playable characters. There’s really no other game out there that makes use of as many heroes, so it’s actually a nice option to turn to if you’re simply frustrated with Marvel’s console record in general, rather than only if you’re looking for Iron Man.
