Example of Stippling
Comic Art Terms – Stippling
Stippling is an inking technique of adding countless dots to create the value. The creation of a pattern simulating varying degrees of solidity or shading by using small dots. Applied with a pen or brush, the denser the dots the darker the apparent shade. The more space between the dots, the lighter the value. This technique allows the artist to have complete control the application of value in their inking.
