For centuries, Europe has a passion for metal construction.  Soufflot’s Church of St. Genevieve in Paris (1759), Jean Nouvel’s Hotel Inudustriel in Pantin (1990), Piano and Roger’s Georges Pompidou Centre (1977) and Claude Perrault’s Louvre colonnades (1670) are examples of metal made structures in the history of Europe.

In modern construction, Steel is widely used as basic element of construction in Europe; however, before steel building trends in Europe, three centuries ago, cast iron was used as primary metal for buildings in Europe. Caste iron was, although, expensive, heavy weighted and fragile to be used buildings for consistent durability. Thus, caste iron was replaced with iron and later on, with steel. Steel buildings then originated and spread across Europe.

Steel buildings have now become a common trend in Europe, and the passion for steel buildings is increasing day by day. The reason for this trend is the aesthetic and mechanic properties that steel possess. Steel buildings are stronger and sturdier as compared to buildings made up of other metals or materials.

Architects and engineers in Europe have worked hard throughout the history to make the buildings of certain structures possible, which was impossible before. The passion, imagination, creativity and hard work of engineers and architects in Europe have helped design the best steelbuildings that have greater resistance to climatic harshness and fire explosions.
