The Advent of Prefabricated Buildings

Prefabricated buildings, sometimes known as modular buildings, are buildings whose modules or parts are actually manufactured in factory and then brought to site for assembly. Prefabricated Buildings emerged after the advent of steel buildings.

After the World War 2, the use of these buildings intensified as they were heavily used to replace the war torn buildings and to accommodate the soldiers returning from the war. Later on, prefabricated buildings grabbed the attention of civilians and masses. They are now becoming a popular trend and there could be witnessed many such buildings.

Prefabricated buildings are metal buildings that are built of steel. The steel used in prefabricated buildings is a high grade galvanized steel which provides effective resistance against rust, dust and corrosion. Prefabricated steel buildings are very easy and quick to assemble and thus, save a lot of time and money and that is the foremost reason why these buildings are becoming popular.

Many educational buildings, ministry buildings, healthcare and hospital buildings, hotels and towers today are actually prefabricated buildings as most of their modules were manufactured in the factory rather than on the site. As the technology is modernizing, the trend of prefabricated buildings is increasing day by day.
