Corvette C7 Z06 Callaway SC757 fails to produce dyno results supporting its alleged horsepower rating

Good ole Reese Callaway and his toupee aka road kill have a knack for creating clever marketing schemes, effectively convincing buyers of +General Motors  cars like Camaro and Corvette to part with serious chunk of money in exchange for receiving one of his factory authorized modifications.

For this generation of Corvette, his offerings are not just limited to the base version of Corvette and include something that apparently Callaway considers the pinnacle of his tuning abilities (at least for the street).

As already mentioned in this blog, for the seventh generation of Corvette,  Reese came up with something very special, where for 17 grand, a happy Corvette buyer can opt for a car aptly named Callaway SC757, with the number supposedly indicating the engine power rating.

As also mentioned, the package consists of a hole in the hood, accompanied by Callaway branded 2.3 supercharger and cold air intake system plus a dash plaque.

What comes with the package is emission certification, warranty applicable through GM dealers and plenty of assurances from Reese.

One thing that does not come with Callaway package is a dyno printout validating the alleged horsepower aspirations either rated at the wheels or at the flywheel.

Apparently, there is a good reason why no such documentation is included:  according to dyno runs conducted by the lucky owners of these cars, the best output the SC757 can produce is 600.3 hp at the wheels.

Taking a sensible approach of assuming 15 percent drivetrain loss, the actual rated output comes up to right around 690 hp and even less if smaller loss would be assumed for a car with manual transmission.

Is Callaway fudging the hp number or intentionally detunes cars delivered to his customers in order to avoid warranty repair costs he would be forced to cover should one of his super Corvettes take a shit as the non Callaway C7 Z06 disasters do on daily basis?
