An Uplifting Experience

A while back we had our regular Gideon Meeting.  We always have a lunch that the ladies provide (and some of the men) and had over 20 people in attendance with two new members and great fellowship!!  It is not as easy as it has been in the past giving out new testaments in schools and colleges in the United States but the Gideon's march on!!  Every penny that is given to the Gideons is spent for scriptures.  The administrative costs are paid from the membership dues of the men.  Each Gideon covers his own travel expenses to churches and to other countries.

One of the highlights of the meeting was an interview with Bill Fay, author of "Share Jesus Without Fear"...  He had some great insights and one of the things that caught my attention is the lengths that God will go to get our attention.  He told about flying on September 10, 2001 and caught the attention of one of the flight attendants.  She asked some questions and finally knelt down by the side of his seat and said "what was the deal?" since she had come into contact with other Christians in the last week.. They went into the galley of the plane and he shared with her and she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior.  The next day, she was on the plane that crashed into the fields of Pennsylvania.   There are probably a lot more stories similar to that one.... people that have had a praying parent for a child that God would not let go of!

I am very thankful for praying parents and grandparents that prayed for me....  I even dare to go back farther and say great and great great grandparents who prayed....  The greatest gift you can give your child and/or family member is to pray for them daily.

We have to realize that God has an eternity that He wants to share with us!
