Maleny, Queensland views

I know I’m lucky to visit Maleny, Queensland, often with views and experiences like these. As a city slicker you can grow tired of the same concrete and opportunities over time. You never know when you’re going to find something amazing, so I took all of these photos on my smartphone.

Getting out to Maleny in Queensland allows me to photograph totally different subjects – sunsets, sunrises, pigs, fog, spiders, roads and everything else just a little differently. My fiancee’s parent’s property sits high on a hill just outside of Maleny in Queensland and houses geese, pigs, dogs, cats, chickens, roosters, turtles and some unwanted snakes (including red belly black snakes) so there’s always something competing for your attention in the yard.

If you’re not lucky enough to visit such a beautiful property and want to get some incredible views around Maleny, there’s a few spots to capture. Halfway up Landsborough-Maleny Road there is a lookout spot on the right-hand side of the road you can turn into. This is a great spot for a sunset view, but the trees can be a little too high to capture a lot of the detail at the bottom of the valley. This is probably the closest spot I can think of to Maleny.

A little further out of Maleny is Witta, which has views everywhere. Seriously, it’s worth the extra drive. The roads are quite quiet, making it easy to stop alongside the road to get out and get into position. Alternatively, you can head to Montville, which has a number of great stops for photography along the way.
