Paul Costelloe spring/summer 2017 at London Fashion Week

Paul's spring/summer 2017 collection unveiled at London Fashion Week is a dramatic and highly visual interpretation of the changing face of the world.

Paul's acute awareness of the world we live in has been a driving force in his ability to constantly reinvent and reinvigorate.

Styles are a wild mix of classic structured jackets, trousers and skirts off-set by dresses with exaggerated pleats and embellishments and form-fitting silhouettes.

All convey a single message for the confident, modern and exceptionally stylish power woman of today.

The confidence to show who you are to the world is personified through Paul's radical experimentation with a plethora of fabrics and materials infused in his iconic tailoring.

These include organza, brocade and metallic printed cottons to PVC and painted sarga involving a kaleidoscope of colour and texture.

At the centre-piece is Linen. This highly versatile fabric softens the structured pieces and imbues the collection with a natural grace.

Paul said: "The linens I have used are very much from the time when linen was created as a truly organic material, natural material, not the mass produced fabric commonly found today.

"Woven on jacquard looms, the linen designs are totally unique."

Using both Belfast linen from John England and Wexford linen from Emblem Weavers has created an engaging and timely narrative for questions about the political landscape of today.

Working with linen mills either side of the Irish border is a signal of Paul's long-time support for the special relationship between the UK and Republic of Ireland.
