It’s interesting when you encounter friendships that span across sports. You see New England Patriots’ DT Terrance Knighton and Oklahoma City Thunder Forward Kevin Durant and you immediately ask “How did that come about?”. Two completely different people visually and in skillset but yes Terrance Knighton and Kevin Durant are apparently friends.
And because they’re boys, Knighton plans to use his influence for the betterment of the Boston Celtics, with Knighton in New England, he wants his boy KD to come to New England and prosper in the same State.
Terrance Knighton is busy learning the playbook for the Patriots in their spring practices, workouts and OTAs.
But when he’s not in the playbook, he’s planning out different ways of recruiting Kevin Durant to the Celtics.
“I’m leaving him alone right now, letting him finished it up. I love how he’s playing. I hope he wins it. I kind of hope he doesn’t,” Knighton said of Durant, who entered Thursday’s Game 5 in Oakland leading Steph Curry and the Warriors, 3 games to 1.
“As soon as the season’s over, if he’s hoisting the trophy or not, I’ll definitely be texting him every day, calling him, flying down to [Oklahoma City]. I’ll be in his ear a lot, trust me.”
Now to me, if my friend from another sport comes to me saying “come to Boston”, sure I’d think about it. But saying “I kind of hope” he doesn’t win the championship. Excuse me? Do you know how long I’ve been wanting this?
Kevin Durant can’t waste time anymore. This is the best chance at him getting a ring since 2011, he should continue what he’s doing and not talk about free agency. Good on Knighton for leaving it now, but I ain’t letting none of my boys sway me.
