Im having this discusssion with my friends, one friend is working in companyA, he hates the work, hates the team, just kills his time in office, as a person has no life and is always unhappy and doesn’t like his life, but is very well Paid and now is losing his job for some reason, so should he be happy to be able to out of this place and try to get into new place ? instead he is unhappy about losing his job. He moved to another small company and rediscovered his life and his passion, and is very happy but his Career is termed as failure

another friend is working in company B a small company, he likes his work, very passionate about his work, intelligent and creative, as a person is full of life and excited to go to work, loves his team and his company and loves office, but is not well paid, the company is not doing well and so no chance of getting a hike but his project will be going live this year and next year will bring more business to company hopefully. He is leaving his job and is going to work for company A, the big company but the work is boring and monotonous. He is viewing this move as big jump in his career because of change in Money, but after moving the job has killed his persona and his life, but his career is termed as successful

Is money the only measure for success in your career ? Is it not required for you as person to do something creative, be passionate about your work. The job and office is work place where we spend almost half of our life time, almost 8-10 hours every day,  should we not love the place , the work and the team or is it just money we should be bothered about ..

This cycle and run for money has started all the way since college and university.  you will choose your courses and electives based on the commercial value, You have to chose your project again on the basis of commercial value. The passion we may have for some other subject has to remain dormant and will be dormant all the life.

So all in all, the society and the world has lost a brilliant science student or Engineering student, because he chose to go into banking, the world has lost brilliant artist, a good musician because they stopped their passion to get into well Paid Jobs. What are these well paid jobs? the monotonous desk jobs in a big banking firm, or a big solicitor firm.

All the university graduates want to get into one of the big firms to be well paid irrespective of what they are required to do. Even in the universities the departments and the funding for projects are not good enough to nurture and produce good research work. To get into research work is treated with stigma, as for those people who didn’t get into good jobs.

If we go back just one generation before, with our fathers, the industrialization  age has seen number of engineering wonders, lots of discoveries in science and mathematics, huge bridges , dams, and all engineering challenges. But now engineering challenges are all about big buildings and rich buildings, no big discoveries in science, works in medicine is all about cosmetic surgeries and facials, there is no specific research area which has benefited the society, given shape to new world, new discoveries.

Hope the economics balance will soon be returned and get back into order and job and career no longer will have money as measure,the  measure of success should be intelligence and creativity and output to society
