Apex Self Defense has added a new line of Pepper Spray to it’s inventory….the Defuser pepper spray. What makes the Defuser unique is that it has a disable pin built into the case. So, in the event it is taken from the user by an attacker, it can’t be used against the victim.

The DeFuser has a built in mechanical disable system that de-activates the unit if separated from its user, making it almost impossible for an attacker to use your own pepper spray against you.

Here’s how it works

Upon a forceful tug the DeFuser will separate from the wrist strap or key chain. When this happens the safety pin is dislodged from the bottom of the DeFuser which causes a slide plate to block the actuator from being depressed. The viewing window indicator will change from green to red showing you that the DeFuser has been de-activated.

The DeFuser can be re-armed by simply re-inserting the safety pin into the bottom of the unit. When you push the safety pin back in, the viewing window indicator will change from red to green showing you that the unit has been re-activated and is once again active and ready for discharge.

DeFuser is small and convenient, plus it fits perfectly into your purse, on your keys, or attached to your wrist. Walkers and joggers love the pink wrist strap / key chain combo because they can run with the DeFuser safely in the palm of their hand and not worry about dropping it.

They also have their keys conveniently attached to the DeFuser so they can run without a bulk of keys in their pocket. Having the keys attached to the your pepper spray offers additional benefits as well. If a struggle arises and the DeFuser is separated from its user, the keys will stay attached to the victims wrist allowing them to escape to their car or home for safety while the pepper spray is rendered useless to the attacker. With standard pepper sprays the keys are permanently attached to the unit and if the assailant gets your device away from you, they also get your keys.

In addition to this, your keys can now help defend you by swinging them at the assailants face, using them to gouge the attackers eyes, or bunch them up in your hand to increase the severity of your punch. No other pink pepper spray offers such protection! DeFuser is great for those reluctant to carry a defense weapon, and it also helps keep it accessible when you need it. Remember, pepper spray wont do you any good if you cant get to it. So don’t keep it on the counter at home, or in your glove box, Keep it with you!

One additional benefit of the Defuser pepper spray is that the disable pin can be intentionally disengaged from the unit to prevent accidental discharge by small children who tend to be curious and love to dig through mom’s purse.
