The first song is in sync with what’s happening in the nation today.

It’s quite obvious a fact that the first Song of the Madaari has something to do with the words Dama Dama Dam. These three words are what we identify a madaari, the street trickster who makes his monkey do a lot of tricks with playing the damroo!

It’s also quite natural for the makers to rope in Vishal Dadlani to sing this angst-ridden song. If you follow MTV Coke Studio, you might remember Vishal Dadlani had crooned the very popular song, that was incidentally titled Madaari!

The song is composed by Vishal Bharadwaj, and the lyrics by Irshad Kamil is strong and in sync with the current times. I also admired Irrfan Khan’s performance in the song, though Vishal’s voice doesn’t quite suit the man!

Madaari has Irrfan Khan playing a vengeful common man who kidnaps the son of a minister, so that he can get back at the system that did him wrong in the past. Jimmy Sheirgill plays the officer in charge of the investigation, hot on heels after the kidnapper and the boy.
